Border leicester sheep

Welcome to the Rare Breed Survival Trust Northern Ireland Support Group website

Our MAIN EVENT of the year is just around the corner - the Annual Show and Sale at Gosford Forest Park, Markethill, Armagh. Saturday 6th September with showing from 10.00am. £10 entry/adult.

SPECIAL ENTRIES JUST ANNOUNCED - the Northern Ireland Environment Agency will be selling their Shetland cattle herd via RBSTNI on the 6th Sept (over 40 head of cattle).

RBSTNI wish to promote this sale to attract as many buyers as possible who will buy the cattle to retain their genetics for breeding. Shetlands are currently classified as being 'at risk' on the  RBST Watchlist with fewer than 750 breeding females remaining globally.

NIEA also have a special entry of cross bred sheep.

Further details will be posted as they become available.

Show and sale of cattle, sheep and poultry, show of pigs and equines. Large craft marquee. Woolcraft and fleece marquee. On site catering. Renewable energy. Brilliant family day out. RBST Field Officer Ruth Dalton in attendance. Not to be missed.

The RBST is the UK's only charity dedicated to conserving Britain's native farm livestock. As a Support Group we work hard to help achieve this aim. Our work relies upon the support of volunteers. If you would like to join RBST or help support our work by getting involved then get in touch with us via our contact details.

Feel free to send us any ideas or suggestions on supporting rare breeds and native farm animal genetic resources.
